Cord Stem Cell Collection

When a couple wish to store their baby's Cord Stem Cells, a Medical Practitioner, Midwife, or doctor has to make the collection at the time of birth, from the cord and placenta. This does not take any of the blood that goes to the baby. The foetal blood is taken generally once the cord has been clamped and cut, thus the baby is not compromised what so ever.

We at The Midwifery Centre wish to help couples to be able to harvest the cord stem cells, so we offer this serivice.
We do not favour any particular company who provide all the expertise and storage. This is down to individual choise. We are providing links to some of the companies who provide this service and storage.

We charge a set fee of £250 per collection. This provides you with a midwife's mobile phone number. This access ensures that a midwife is on call from week 38 to week 42. This does not guarantee an adequate collection, just the reassurance that a Midwife will attend in the final satges of your labour to make the Cord Stem collection from the Cord / Placenta.
