By
breast feeding, mothers are also protecting their own health, by lowering
the possibilities of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and osteoporosis in later
life, as well as invaluable bonding with their baby.Studies show that women who have additional support during their breast feeding were more likely to continue. The government recommends exclusive breast feeding ideally for the first 6 months of life.
The Midwifery Centre breast feeding drop-in's aims to help and support women who are experiencing problems breast feeding or are having problems weaning their babies onto solids, as well as those wanting o continue once they are back at work.
Breast feeding drop-in's are for ongoing education and support. The support will be from your peers and from the midwives.
